Deborah L. Cox, Ph.D., ABPP
Deborah Cox is a licensed psychologist and board certified specialist in Couple & Family Psychology and an approved provider of EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy.
She specializes in couple’s issues, trauma recovery, and the treatment of eating disorders. She holds the Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Texas Woman’s University.
Dr. Cox was a faculty member at Missouri State University from 1998-2009, where she studied women’s emotional development. She is co-author of, “Women’s anger: Clinical and Developmental Perspectives” (Brunner-Mazel, 1999) and “The Anger Advantage” (Broadway, 2003).
Dr. Cox’s work has been featured in Prevention Magazine, Reuter’s Health, Cosmopolitan, Redbook, Working Mother Magazine, Salon.com, and ABC News Online. Dr. Cox is the former Vice President for Practice of the Society for Family Psychology of the American Psychological Association and past editor of The Family Psychologist.
Joseph F. Hulgus, Ph.D.
Dr. Joseph Hulgus is a licensed psychologist who specializes in family therapy, couple therapy, and the needs of military families.
Dr. Hulgus has over 30 years experience studying and working with distressed family systems. He holds the doctoral degree from Texas Woman’s University and is a current associate professor of counseling at Missouri State University and has been a member of the clinical faculty at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas, and Fuller Theological Seminary.
Craig Coenen, EdD, LPC, CRADCII, EMDRII
Craig P. Coenen has a Doctorate in Adult and Higher Education and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSACII), and an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDRII) therapist. He specializes in substance abuse relapse prevention, mental health counseling, adult learning, family dynamics, positive resource development, trauma processing, and the treatment of attachment disorders.
Craig has a broad background in treatment of childhood, adolescent, and adult anxiety, depression, and behavioral problems. Craig is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), is a member of the EMDRIA; the research division of EMDR, and a member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA). In his spare time, Craig’s interests include photography, hiking, writing, and playing piano. Most of all he enjoys helping children, adolescents, and their families improve their functioning and reach their full potential.
Barbara M. Farrell, PsyD
Barbara Farrell is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in psychological evaluations and trauma therapy. She provides integrated, in-depth assessments of children and adults. As a therapist, she treats depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and anger problems. Barbara is a member of EMDRIA (EMDR International Association) and trained in EMDR therapy. Barbara’s background is working in rural Missouri with children and adults who struggle with chronic mental and physical illnesses. Rather than relying on traditional talk therapy, she incorporates mindfulness skills training, art therapy, and EMDR into treatment planning with clients. She conceptualizes her clients as whole human beings who have untapped potential. Barbara’s belief is that the upsetting events we face in life can be used to develop strength and purpose. She encourages her clients to grow in mind, body and spirit to evolve their authentic self, becoming mindfully whole.
